Gildan Activewear Inc. announced the closure of its Mexican manufacturing operations by the end of the first quarter of 2020, as part of its manufacturing optimization initiatives and in light of the current market conditions. The closure of the Mexican manufacturing operations will allow the Company to temporarily reduce capacity in the context of current demand softness in North America and international imprintables markets. Equipment from Mexico will be relocated to the Company’s manufacturing hubs in Central America and the Caribbean Basin.
