1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Some cookies are needed to make the site function. Others help us improve performance, remember your preferences, or support personalized advertising. Similar technologies—such as pixels, tags, and local storage—may be used for the same purposes.

d.    Advertising or Marketing Cookies and Similar technologies

Advertising cookies and similar tracking technologies such as pixels and web beacons collect information about the browsing habits associated with your device and are used to make advertising more relevant to you and your interests. Based on your consent, we may store and read information on your end device, in order to present you with relevant advertisements, content or online banners, create online advertisements with information that may be of interest to you, prevent you from repeatedly being exposed to the same advertisements, and provide you with a personalised user experience.

Our website may include social media features such as the Facebook “Like” button, LinkedIn Share button. When these features load, the social media platform may receive information about your visit to our site, even if you do not interact with the plugin. If you are logged into your social media account, the social media platform may link this information to your profile and use it for analytics or personalized advertising. If you prefer that social platforms do not collect this information, you can disable Advertising Cookies using “Cookie Preference” link available from the footer of our website or log out of your social media accounts before visiting our site.

The advertising cookies and tracking technologies implemented by third parties in our website are detailed below:

Where required (e.g., in the EU or Quebec), we only deploy non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising, personalization) with your consent. You may reject or adjust cookies at any time through our cookie management tool or your browser settings, where available. For more information on how to adjust your cookie settings, refer to Section 5- Your Choices and Controls below.

4.    Use of IP addresses and web logs

Gildan may also use a user’s IP address and browser type to help diagnose problems with its server, to administer products and to improve their functionality. An IP address is a numeric code that identifies a user’s computer on the internet. A user’s IP address might also be used to gather broad demographic information. Gildan does not use IP addresses to derive the identity of the person using the IP address.

Gildan may perform IP lookups to determine which domain a user is coming from (e.g. google.com) to more accurately gauge its users’ demographics. Gildan employs a small number of tools which perform IP lookups against visit event data in order to establish the geographical location of visits. This is most frequently seen against search campaigns, and the search entry data is retained as long as Gildan's campaign is running.

5.    Your Choices and controls

a)    Through our Cookie Preference Link: You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the “Cookie Preference” link available from the footer of our website. You may withdraw your consent by setting the option for any of the cookie categories to the “off” position, or give your consent by setting any option to the “on” position or click on “decline” to reject all non-essential cookies.

b)    Through your browser: Your browser or device may also allow you to block or delete cookies, though doing so may affect how the website functions. Bear in mind that your choices only ever affect the browser you used when you made such choices. If you use different browsers or end devices, you may need to exercise your choice regarding Cookies again. Under certain circumstances after updates, or if you delete the Cookies from your browser, the settings can be reset to the basic configuration and we may ask you to exercise your choice regarding Cookies again upon your next visit to our website.
