The opportunity

The Product Line Manager will play an integral role in managing the seasonal wholesale product line plan, calendar, product architecture, costing, and competitive analysis. This individual will be responsible for leading the team(s) developing assortment frameworks and consumer centered product briefs that address their deep understanding of the target end-user and end consumer. This individual will also need to have a deep understanding scalable trends and analyze customer POS to make informed decisions on style retirement and expansion.  They will oversee and ensure that key deliverables and deadlines are met, partner with sales on customer sell-in, create and share the why with sales and customers.

The role

  • Provide briefs and frameworks which give clear product direction and information to development and design partners.
  • Manage and execute to designated calendar milestones from hindsight, to design brief to product launches.
  • In partnership with Brand and Experiential Marketing, be able to provide the product “why” for new marketing initiatives, and storytelling on social media and at tradeshows
  • Provide clear direction on all financial drivers to meet margin requirements set by activewear leadership.
  • Manage seasonal costing to ensure margin goals are met or exceeded
  • Have robust market knowledge on emerging brands, and existing competitors to make sound decisions for whitespace opportunities. 
  • Analyze product line performance inclusive of add/drops, sell-in, sell-through, and monthly POS data.
  • Support the Director of Product in preparation for sales/customer presentations, both internally and externally to internal stakeholders and wholesalers as needed and presenting when required.
  • Develop and manage an effective working relationship between design, tech design, product development, sales, and marketing to effectively plan new product line introductions.
  • Travel for seasonal Market trips, tradeshows, customer visits, and key development meetings as needed
  • Continuously drive innovative ways of working as it relates to technology, processes, and communication flows.

  • Be an out of the box thinker that can find opportunities for improvement, gather the right teams, and present compelling reasons to change processes

The requirements

  • University Degree: Merchandising, Design, Product Development, Supply Chain
  • Experience Required 10+ Years
  • Managerial experience required
