The Opportunity

Conduct technical feasibility assessments, develop, and implement components and programs for new and existing company applications, ensuring they effectively support business operations and contribute to operational continuity. All work must comply with established development standards, including standardization, modularity, reusability, and flexibility to support sustainable scalability.

Design and deliver solutions based on specifications provided by internal business stakeholders and in alignment with established guidelines and standards. These solutions should enable the organization to remain focused on its strategic priorities through the effective use of technology, resources, pre-built components, reusable assets, and available technology platforms. For purchased or third-party solutions, provide the necessary technical support to vendors and validate that their deliverables comply with the company’s established development standards.

This role is accountable for the development and successful implementation of software components, ensuring adherence to defined standards. When direct control over a solution is limited, the role supports implementation teams by providing structured feedback and identifying opportunities to improve software development practices. Actively participate as a member of a Scrum team, contributing technical expertise to the analysis and development of business requirements and providing reliable effort estimates for proposed solutions.

The Role

  • Develop requirements assigned by the Development area in accordance with the design and architecture defined by the Software Architect.
  • Provide reliable development effort estimates and meet agreed timelines for assigned requirements.
  • Prepare unit tests for completed work to enable the Quality Control team to validate compliance with business requirements, using available methodologies, tools, and established standards.
  • Analyze, design, develop, and implement components for new applications, including inputs, outputs, interfaces, and services, in collaboration with the Software Architect.
  • Design prototypes based on specifications and requirements gathered by the Business area.
  • Ensure that developed components meet established quality criteria and support successful user acceptance.
  • Support the quality control team in identifying the types of testing required.
  • Actively participate in the planning, analysis, and design phases of projects and software components, ensuring alignment with development standards.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and the Development area to estimate work related to new systems, enhancements, modifications, and fixes for existing systems.
  • Act as a technical advisor to development and planning teams, contributing expertise and practical experience.
  • Support reviews of components under development when required, identifying optimization opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance process by supporting Test Engineers during development control and testing activities for completed applications.
  • Continuously research and update technical knowledge to maximize the use of available technologies, helping deliver more robust solutions and reduce development timelines.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal teams to promote adoption of development standards, methodologies, and deliverables.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for information systems development, providing a reliable reference for troubleshooting, decision-making, and deployment of new solutions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

The Requirements

  • Education and Experience:
    • Technical degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems.
    • Certifications in object-oriented software development or company-defined development standards are preferred.
    • Minimum of three years of software development experience using the company’s .NET frameworks for a Junior Development Engineer role.
    • Minimum of three years of .NET software development experience for a Senior Development Engineer role.
    • Minimum of three years of experience with ANSI SQL.
    • Knowledge of database management languages such as PL/SQL and Transact-SQL.
    • Experience developing and implementing service-oriented architectures.
    • Minimum of three years of experience in systems analysis and design.
    • Proficiency in spoken and written English is preferred.
