The opportunity
The Role
The EH&S Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring workplace environmental, safety, and
health programs. The EH&S Manager builds relationships in all the Yarns plants to foster a compliant operation where Zero Harm Culture is continuously embraced.
The Requirements
Education:
University Degree- BS in Health and Safety or related degree + experience.
Experience:
Overall, 10 years
Managerial, 5 years
Certifications, OSHA 10 or 30 Certified
- Supports implementation and improvement of EH&S programs within the yarn manufacturing facilities in the U.S.
Collaborate with facility operational teams and EH&S staff to implement action plans, processes, and
procedures to control EH&S risks and achieve compliance to the Gildan safety and environmental
policies, corporate EH&S guidelines, and improvement initiatives.
- Manage and evaluate assessments that identify hazards and reduce risk including but not limited to hazard identification, job safety analysis, risk assessments, pre-startup safety review, PPE, machine guarding, and hazardous energy.
- Develops, implements, and ensures training in all aspects of EH&S is maintained within compliance standards and in a manner that positively engages employee behaviors and protects the business from risks.
- Coaches leadership teams on critical skills, behaviors, and techniques that build and sustain a safety culture consistent with Gildan’s values.
Manages and or takes part in internal audits, compliance assessments, & inspections to support
safety programs for employees, contractors, and construction projects.
Ensures EH&S documentation, records, and EH&S management information tools are kept in a manner than complies with local and federal regulation.
