The opportunity
The primary function of this role is to keep all assigned cards running properly by blowing out cards and fixing sliver breaks.
The Role
- Keep all assigned cards running properly, maintain a clean and orderly work area, and supplying empty containers.
- Blow our cards according to the card cleaning schedule.
- Fix sliver breaks on assigned card machines.
- Collects waste at end of shift and take it to the waste hopper.
- Blow off card coilers once a shift.
- Walk around machine and make sure bands are properly placed.
- Prevent product mix.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Housekeeping responsibilities as assigned.
The Requirements
- Ability to walk/push/pull or stand for a 12-hour shift.
- Prevent product mix.
- Ability to recognize defective products on the card machines.
- Hand strength
- The ability to lift at least 30-50 lbs.
- Willingness to learn.
- Must be able to Identify band colors, tube and cone color ID markings.
- Ability to follow work instructions and procedures.
- Ability to speak and understand some English.
