Aline Zanella, Senior Manager of Financial Operations, shares her experience of finding a sense of belonging at Gildan and how she witnessed first-hand the Company’s core value “We believe in our people.”
In her role, Aline manages the finance corporate processes for operations, supply chain, and cost of sales while ensuring compliance with company policies. Previously, Aline held a position as Manager of the SOX Compliance team, overseeing the risk assessments of transactions and auditing internal controls that impact financial reporting across the Company. Read on to discover how Aline found her fit at Gildan:
I joined Gildan in 2021 and felt welcomed from the get-go. I fondly recall my interview with the Vice-President of SOX Compliance and Financial Reporting at the time. His friendly approach was my first glimpse at the Company’s incredibly collaborative work culture, and over time, this initial impression has been strengthened.
Throughout my Gildan journey, my leaders and peers have demonstrated that I was joining a company with a great work environment where success is driven by believing in one another and working together. Although I was new, I truly felt like a part of the team early on. During my years with the company, I had the opportunity to visit some of Gildan’s manufacturing locations in Honduras and North Carolina. It was fantastic to see those impressive facilities in-person and meet the people who create the products for which Gildan is known.
I also had the opportunity to enhance my leadership skills through great programs that Gildan offers. For example, in 2023, I participated in Leading the Gildan Way (LTGW), and in 2024, I was selected to be part of the Women in Leadership – Ignite Your Impact cohort, both of which are high-impact training programs aimed at shaping and nurturing Gildan’s future leaders.
“Throughout my Gildan journey, my leaders and peers have demonstrated that I was joining a company with a great work environment where success is driven by believing in one another and working together.”
Four years in, I strive to instill a similar sense of belonging in my team by believing in them, creating an open and supportive environment where they can freely express their ideas, be their authentic selves, and find meaning in their work.
