The Opportunity

Reporting to the Lead Administrator, System, the MES Administrator is a senior technical authority responsible for overseeing the entire Manufacturing Execution System (MES) ecosystem across the Manufacturing Division. In this role, you will ensure the optimal performance, security, and scalability of MES infrastructure, while driving continuous improvement and strategic alignment with business objectives.

As the primary liaison between IT, operations, and business stakeholders, you will provide leadership in system governance, compliance, and innovation across our global manufacturing operations.

The Role

• System Governance & Strategy: Define and enforce MES architecture standards, policies, and best practices; develop long-term strategies for MES scalability, integration, and modernization; lead audits and compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to cybersecurity and regulatory standards.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of MES hardware and software; ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization of MES systems; manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies for MES enhancement.
• Operational Excellence: Guarantee SLA compliance and system uptime across all MES platforms; monitor system health, analyze performance metrics, and implement proactive measures; validate and approve technical procedures, documentation, and audit records.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as the escalation point for MES-related incidents and complex technical issues; coordinate technical communication between IT teams, manufacturing operations, and business units; mentor MES/Helpdesk Engineers and provide advanced technical guidance.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Lead testing and deployment of new MES technologies and integrations; drive automation initiatives and process optimization within MES environments; ensure cybersecurity standards are applied consistently across MES infrastructure.

The Requirements

Education: University degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 3+ years of overall experience in System Administration, including work with Textile Applications and industrial networks; no prior managerial experience required.

Technical Problem-Solving: Proven ability to resolve real-time manufacturing disruptions — unexpected downtime, latency, or degraded MES performance that can impact production schedules and KPIs — and to troubleshoot integration issues across ERP, PLC, SCADA, and other manufacturing or business systems that can cause production delays and reporting inaccuracies.

Decision-Making: Comfortable making high-stakes calls during unplanned outages — deciding between immediate failover, a temporary workaround, or emergency escalation — while minimizing impact on manufacturing operations, and prioritizing which updates, patches, or security fixes require immediate deployment versus scheduled maintenance.

Leadership: Experience mentoring technical staff (e.g., MES/Helpdesk Engineers) and serving as an escalation point and cross-functional liaison between IT, manufacturing operations, and business stakeholders.
