The opportunity
Manages the timely processing of Charleston and Jacksonville payrolls (hourly and salary) for a multi-business unit organization in ADP/Dayforce with emphasis on accuracy of hourly time punch, hourly wage calculations, and associated deductions. Deposits incoming check/cash receipts.
The role
Essential Functions:
- Process hourly and salaried payroll on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.
- Ensure accurate inputting of garnishments and vacation for import into ADP/Dayforce.
- Coordinate changes in pay rates, vacations, deduction changes, etc. with Human Resources.
- Create payroll journal entry for input entry into JDE/E1.
- Submit final payroll for approval to Financial Rep. Distribution Director.
- Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to ensure accurate documentation preparation and related accurate responses for payroll audit requests.
- Serve as backup payroll processing for EDEN/NDC.
- Assists with monthly financial reporting requirements as needed.
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
The requirements
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma + Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR University degree
Knowledge and Skills:
- Requires technical/specialized knowledge of methods, techniques, systems and processes in one field
- Applies basic knowledge developed through education

- Identifies and solves problems with many precedents covering most situations
- Primary contact for technical / specialized input
- Identifies and resolves immediate problems affecting team with available assistance

Additional Skills:
- Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience in utilizing and maintaining a full functional integrated HRIS system (Oracle platform preferred).
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility to changing work priorities.
- Very strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Confidentiality of data.
- Hearing is required to hear instructions, receive information from various sources, and understand safety warnings.
- Vision is required to read instructions, interpret data, and formulate metrics.
