The opportunity
The ERP Development Intern will work alongside the Sr. Manager of ERP Development to assist in improving the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and ERP Testing. The intern will engage with various stakeholders within Gildan to map the ERP infrastructure and data flows, contributing to the creation of an architecture diagram for the ERP system. This position provides exposure to both operational and strategic elements of ERP development and process improvement.
The role
- Improve SDLC Processes: Work with the Sr. Manager to analyze and refine existing SDLC processes, contributing to the development of best practices and process improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Mapping Data Flows: Collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders within Gildan to understand and document ERP infrastructure and data flows, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Create Architecture Diagrams: Assist in developing architecture diagrams that visualize the ERP system’s structure, including data flow, system integration, and key components, to support strategic planning and technical decision-making.
The requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field of study.
- Strong foundational understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and basic knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
- Interest in learning ERP systems.
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure terminology around data flows, servers, virtual machines, cloud etc.
- Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart) or willingness to learn them.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems and suggest solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes quickly.
- Familiarity with basic office software (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous coursework or hands-on projects related to system integration, data flow, or architecture diagrams is a plus but not required.
- This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
