The opportunity

The Transportation and Logistics Accounting Administrator will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Transportation, Warehousing and Customs brokerage invoices and assuring that all outstanding liabilities have been recognized in the period they were incurred. This position sits within the Transportation and Logistics Department, reporting to the Manager, Transportation and Logistics Operations.

 

The role

  • Process all Transportation, Warehousing and Customs brokerage invoices timely and accurately.
  • Assure that the movements, schedules and/or reports have been correctly posted into the systems (Database/E1/Manual payments) to recognize the liabilities in the month they were incurred.
  • Assure that all statement of accounts for transportation, logistics and brokerage vendors have been correctly reconciled, ensuring that all aged invoices are investigated/resolved and cleaned up off the statement/E1 Transportation module. 
  • Process the supplier checklist received from the Compliance department ensuring that any shipments not paid or accrued are accurately commented on.
  • Prepare and analyze the monthly KPIs for the department and the Management booklet. 
  • Provide variance analyses on the Freight and Warehousing costs incurred on a monthly basis against budget, prior month and prior year for all Finance & Logistic queries. 

The requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance and/or a related discipline.
  • At least one to three (1-3) years’ experience working in an accounting environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good sense of judgment and the ability to take the initiative.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Word.
  • Detail oriented.
