PAVING THE WAY FOR FEMALE EDUCATION

Since 2017, Gildan has partnered with Room to Read in Bangladesh to support the Girls’ Education Program in Bangladesh and strengthen access to education for girls. To date, this partnership has benefited over 500 girls by addressing common gender barriers and imparting valuable life lessons for girls.

EMPOWERING WOMEN WITH FINANCIAL EDUCATION

Since 2023, Gildan has been partnering with World Vision in Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic to support economic independence, empowering more than 4000 female Gildan employees with competencies in finance, gender, and entrepreneurship.  With a contribution amount of U.S.$460,000, this program will allow women to grow professionally within Gildan and personally.

ENHANCING LEARNING EXPERIENCES WITH SAFE LEARNING SPACES

Gildan regularly invests in improving school infrastructure in our regions of operation, allowing students to enjoy safer school environments. For instance, supported the construction and furnishing of Monte San Juan School in Rivas in Nicaragua, improving classrooms, student facilities, and school fencing. Similarly, we supported the renovation of a Public Primary School in Savar, Bangladesh, by repairing roofs and ceilings, installing proper ventilation, and upgrading furniture.

GILDAN EMPLOYEES VOLUNTEERING FOR QUALITY EDUCATION

Throughout the year, Gildan employees from several regions volunteer their time to address the needs of local educational organizations. For instance, in 2024, employees from the Dominican Republic packed and distributed school supply kits to over 3,500 students, and those from the U.S. and Bangladesh similarly supported their respective local schools.
