The opportunity
Develops and maintains North American hosiery vendors to supplement internal and Asia production sourcing as required. Responsible for all aspects of Vendor Management as it relates to schedule adherence, corporate compliance, and cost/price negotiations.
The role
Essential Functions:
- Manages process to support the Demand Solutions Requirement Planning (DSRP) tool which is initiated from the master schedule to ensure lowest cost production plan that covers sales/forecast requirements are met
- Utilizes DSRP to highlight service and availability issues across retail operations, sales and customer service
- Develops capacity tested production schedules that will result in the desired inventory levels and meet customer expectations
- Works with manufacturing and corporate planning to ensure that production plans are feasible; follows-up to ensure that plans are being met
- Monitors shipments versus forecast and discusses discrepancies with Sales/Forecasting
- Communicates with distribution to validate timelines needed for prep work and customer shipments
- Communicates projected inventory excesses/shortfalls with Sales as opportunities/issues and develops action plans to address
- Presents individual customer account summaries in weekly customer reviews
- Participates in new product launches and develops time and action conventions to ensure product availability alignment with customer needs
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs
The requirements
Education and Experience:
University degree + Minimum of 8 years of relevant and managerial experience
OR
University degree + 10 years of relevant experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Broad knowledge of all work carried out in a specialized area
- Sound understanding of how the other sectors of business interplay and affect the operational unit
OR
- Experienced and specialized professional (senior level)
- Specialized expertise in own field and broad knowledge of other fields

- Executes operational business plans
- Occasionally develops and organizes strategic and tactical plan for a large project or ongoing processes
AND/OR
- Addresses complex issues within field

Additional Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following tracking, inventory control and planning/scheduling systems preferred: JDE, SAP, RedPrairie, Oracle, SIMMS, inFLOW, MJC2, Preactor, SAP, JDA, DSRP, Logility, etc.
- Working knowledge of Supply Chain and Planning Concepts
- APICS certification preferred
- Strong analytical ability
- Able to summarize data and wide-ranging issues to enable executive decision-making
- Capacity to adopt a global perspective
- Fluency in another language considered an asset: Spanish, Chinese
- Results oriented; issue resolution required
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data, and formulate metrics
- Hearing is required in order to hear instructions, receive information from various sources, and understand safety warnings
