The opportunity

Reporting into the the Sr Manager, Marketing the Manager, Marketing is responsible for driving the growth and performance of our brands by leading product strategy, development, and end‑to‑end lifecycle management across the Canadian market. This role shapes product direction for the  Intimates category, bringing new innovation to market and ensuring that each product meets consumer needs, category trends, and financial objectives. 

This role operates within a hybrid work model, requiring a 3 day presence onsite in our Mississauga office. 

The role

Product Marketing Strategy

  • Product Development: Using market and consumer insight data, build strategic product pipeline for short and long term plans, in collaboration with senior team and product merchandising team, with a suitable assortment (either locally or globally developed) for each brands’ positioning within the Canadian market. Spot incremental opportunities for placement throughout the year. 
  • Pricing Strategy: Create, review and recommend product specific financial modeling (P&L) for products with an understanding of impacts to cost of goods in apparel across the value chain including manufacturing, garment costs, packaging, transportation/logistics, import costs as well as retailer/wholesale and consumer pricing strategy.
  • Product Lifecyle: Manage the product lifecycle management process from initial concept, retailer forecasts, production planning, inventory management and style exit.
  • Launch Performance: Lead the style and SKU review process by leveraging data analysis (shipment/POS/Inventory evaluation) to build an optimized, profitable assortment, while driving overall portfolio productivity meeting financial and inventory goals. Provide regular updates on seasonal launches, providing data driven recommendations for optimization.
  • Distribution Planning: Collaborate with Customer Management Group (CMG) to respond to retailer/market needs, lead retailer presentations to support product sell-in, and  gain retailer alignment to commercial plans. Collaborate and provide recommendations for growth on DTC strategy as it relates to product, promotions and consumer communications.
  • Consumer Insight: Understand and apply consumer insight data to product and distribution strategies, manage briefing on ad hoc research when applicable
    Partner with key CMG stakeholders to support in market activation of new and existing products with retailers. Lead clear communication with partners to share key timelines, project updates, and sales support deliverables.

Execution/Operations

  • Contribute to weekly meetings  with local and international teams to track production, shipment and in DC availability.
  • Lead in setting up seasonal launches in the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Workfront and Product Lifecycle Management, completing assigned tasks and participating in planning meetings with international teams. Ensure accurate product set up and integration for launch readiness
  • Collaborative with Demand Analytics team and Sales Operations teams to ensure accuracy in forecasts in order to achieve quarterly profit targets
    Key owner of seasonal line sheet handover and Line Development projects remain on schedule
  • Build, maintain and communicate key product tools such as new product information forms, product sell sheets, pricing information, packaging visuals
  • Assist in managing shipment, POS, and inventory performance by analyzing trends, identifying inventory risks or opportunities, and providing recommendations, supporting monthly tracking to ensure financial targets and inventory goals are consistently met.
  • Obtain packaging artwork approvals in systems, manage flow throughs on new packaging

In-Market Activation

  • Brief internal and external creative teams for in-market communications and activations including packaging, online assets (PDP, Landing pages), retailer POS/digital assets
  • Craft product selling features, benefits copy for online, packaging or in-store activation
  • Responsible for marketing budget including forecasting, planning, and overseeing allocated spend, and overseeing day to day budget management and invoice processing

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing
  • 5+ years a similar Marketing Management role in either product management, brand or retail management
  • CPG experience
  • Product innovation and brand management experience
  • Experience in apparel, a strong asset
  • Product innovation and brand management experience
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and marketing function teams

  • NPD & data analytics skills: Analytically focused with ability to create insights from data

  • Self-starter with an ability to operate within a large multinational organization

  • Strong presentation and influencing skills 

  • Strong Written/verbal communication and listening skills 
  • Proactivity and start-up mindset: ability to move, propose new ideas and take actions independently

  • Focus on results and tenacity to get things done on time and on budget

  • Meticulously organized with the ability to wear multiple thinking hats and have an innate curiosity

Salary Range: $92,000-$107,750
