The Product Development Information Analyst is required to gather and analyze information from various sources for item set-up requests (unique product codes, packaging details, product cost, etc.) to ensure adherence to established standards of product categories, branding guidelines, packaging components, planning and production processes and retailer-specific requirements. This position sits in the Planning Department, reporting to the Manager, Product Development & Pricing.
The role
Maintain and update designated systems to ensure the smooth flow of product through manufacturing and distribution, meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
Identify, resolve, and communicate issues in a timely manner, including updates during weekly cross-functional meetings.
Compile and manage finished product specifications, ensuring that manufacturing vendors are informed of any changes to product, packaging, labeling, or casing requirements. This inalso includes sharing accurate information with the costing and manufacturing teams.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across manufacturing and inventory systems, including generating unique product codes and managing product lifecycle updates (e.g., reactivation, discontinuation, obsolescence).
Verify that Retail Costing information (including Free on Board, retail cost, and margins) is complete and accurately converted to standard unit costs.
Maintain contract documentation and validate pricing and costing files.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Product Data Management (PDM), Design Merchandising, Forecasting, Planning, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to troubleshoot and resolve processing issues.
