The opportunity

Located at Gildan's Global Head Office in Montreal, the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager will be an integral part of the corporate finance and accounting team and report to the Director FP&A. The FP&A Manager will play a key role in the preparation of internal financial reports, Board of Directors materials, monthly and quarterly financial analysis materials, the annual operating budget, quarterly forecasting process, maintain a 3-year model and provide ad hoc analysis for the organization.  The FP&A manager will also supervise a team of financial analysts.

 

The role

  • Play a key role in understanding, analyzing and communicating Gildan's global operational and financial results to executives and Board.
  • Lead, coordinate and execute with the Business Units the preparation of month-end and quarter-end consolidated financial reporting and various supporting analysis detailing variances from forecast.
  • Coordinate and execute with the Business Units the preparation of the annual operating budget and quarterly re-forecast, including consolidate of the financial reporting and related analysis.
  • Managing and supervising the work of a team of financial analysts
  • Coordinate the preparation of various monthly and quarterly presentations for Senior Executive and Board meeting, related supporting materials
  • Develop and improve analytics to provide insight into business trends and underperforming aspects
  • Work with business units, and other key stakeholders to generate requested reporting output
  • Execute value-added analysis and provide decision support for special projects and initiatives
  • Execute continuous process improvement to improve analysis and reporting process

The requirements

  • 10 + years of relevant work experience in a financial environment, preferably with a focus on analytics and a minimum of 8 years of team management experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
  • Accounting/Financial title (CPA, CMA, CGA, CFA)
  • Fluency in English and strong communication skills, knowledge of French will be considered an asset
  • Strong business acumen and capacity to summarize complex financial information
  • Inquisitive, self-motivated with strong attention to detail and superior analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting and financial modeling
  • Experience in managing financial analyst team will be considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively both individually and as a team
  • Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions, ability to work well in high pressure situations to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly learn various in-house software applications
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Planning will be considered an asset
  • Strong project management skills
  • This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
