The opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Compensation, the Senior Advisor, Global Compensation will play a key role in the administration, communication and optimization of our compensation programs. The successful incumbent will provide advice, support and expertise on both fixed and variable compensation, as well as benefits and mobility initiatives, on a global scale.
The role
- Through sound knowledge of compensation structures, salary setting and job evaluation, provide guidance and expertise to divisional HR and/or compensation teams to maintain internal equity across all groups and locations.
- Lead the preparation of the global annual salary review and bonus process, including setting guidelines and up-dating communication material, opening of the process in our HRIS and provide support to business partners during these processes. The incumbent will also carry quarterly budgeting provisions with the finance group and estimates at year-end.
- Work with other team members on activities related to share-based compensation and vendor interactions, including the preparation of annual grants, vesting and providing support to participants on a needed basis. Administer the Employee Share Purchase plan communication occurring twice a year.
- Participate in compensation surveys, analyze data, and make recommendations to ensure proper alignment with market practices and trends for all the markets that we operate in (Canada, USA, LATAM, Asia)
- Lead various compensation-related projects and initiatives, such as training sessions for HR and managers, salary structures updates, process & HRIS improvements, and benefits contract renewals.
The requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a field related to either human resources or compensation.
- 6-9 years’ experience in Human Resources or a related field, with at least 3 years’ experience as a specialist in compensation.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to position compensation practices in a global context.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and some working knowledge of HRIS systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
- Comfortable handling multiple files simultaneously, with efficient and effective organizational skills.
- This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
